Who owns my music after I distribute through Lakou?
You do — 100%. We never take ownership of your masters or publishing. Our partners simply handle the delivery to streaming services on your behalf.
How are royalties paid out?
Royalties are collected by our distribution partner and paid directly to you on a monthly basis once your account meets the partner's minimum payout threshold. Industry members get an additional quarterly performance report from Lakou Music.
How long does it take for my music to go live?
Most releases go live on all platforms within 2–5 business days. Pro members get priority onboarding and Industry members get white-glove handling — typically 24–48 hours.
What does it actually cost?
Standard public rates apply for Free members. Pro members get 15% off and Industry members get 20% off — exclusive to Lakou Music. Exact partner rates are shared during onboarding.
